Mr. Anthony Cheung is the Deputy Chairman of Training Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and has over 15 years of experience as investor with experience in Asia Pacific and emerging markets, ESG and sustainable investing. Mr. Cheung is the first institutional investor in Asia who attained the Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA) designation. He was awarded Regional ESG Leader Award by Insights and Mandate (I&M) in 2019. He has recently been elected as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Stakeholder Council member, and appointed by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) to join the Professional Assessment Panel in Responsible Finance.

Apart from serving as Board Governor at Friends of the Earth in Hong Kong, Mr. Cheung is a member of Beatdrug Fund Association Investment Sub-committee, a member of LCSD Committee on Venue Partnership, and a member of Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) ESG working group.

Mr. Cheung currently serves as an INED, chairman of the Audit committee and chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability committee of China Shineway Pharmaceutical Group (stock code: 2877), as an INED and chairman of the ESG committee of IPE Group Limited (stock code: 0929) and as an INED of Forward Fashion International Holding (stock code: 2528).

Mr. Cheung holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business from University of Cambridge and BSc (Hons) in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). He is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

Maxwell’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions of private and listed companies, corporate finance, capital restructuring as well as corporate governance and general compliance of listed companies.

Maxwell has solid experience in advising a number of listed companies on different types of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, secondary fundraising by way of placing, rights issue and issuance of convertible securities, general offer related matters, capital restructuring as well as advising listed companies on compliance with listing rules and securities law. Mr. Frank Chan, Senior Manager from Advisory Team, Grant Thornton

Frank has over 15 years of professional experiences encompassing technology audit and providing a variety of “CIO” solutions – ranging from technology governance and controls, digital transformation, cybersecurity, data privacy, disaster recovery and project management.

Prior to Grant Thornton, Frank led the IT audit and compliance functions in various blue chip corporations in Hong Kong, serving the real estate, retail, financial and insurance, and natural resources sectors.  Frank served both second and third lines of defenses through providing independent audit in corporations, and implementing controls and policies and procedures to support the IT functions.

In addition, Frank served as a disaster recovery (DR) leadership role on designing the disaster recovery process and organizing the associated disaster recovery drills for an international insurance company’s Asia-Pacific region, covering 13 countries in 9 time zones.  It was the first time a whole region was involved in a DR process with success, and becoming a foundation of the subsequent drills until the complete upgrade of the relevant systems.

Frank graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree of Bachelor of Science, University of Denver with a degree of Master of Science, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a degree of Master of Business Administrations.  He is also a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Audit (CIA) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Her board training in sustainability, governance, strategy and risk oversight spans five continents.

She is a Steering Committee member of Climate Governance Initiative Hong Kong Chapter, an Expert Review Panel member for the MTR Corporation sustainability reports since 2014, Advisory Board member of Asia Climate Forum, an ESG/climate judge for WealthAsia (Benchmark) Funds of the Year Awards, a Council member, Publishing Board of Magazine member and a Deputy Chair of the training committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, faculty of Competent Boards, CSIA and FITC, board member of Hope of the City, advisory council/committee member of GARP (HK), BlueOnion, FarmacyHK and Shao Ming Lo Foundation. She has served the financial community across four jurisdictions in the past 43 years.

She has a PhD (2022) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with dissertation titled “Do carbon risks matter for Hong Kong equity prices?”, an MBA (1980) from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business, a BSc (Honors, 1978) from Roosevelt University in USA and is a graduate of the Stanford University Senior Executive Leadership Program and the 2011 Stanford Directors’ College. She has authored a book on investing in H-shares, a Harvard Business case, a chapter in CFA Society Hong Kong’s 30th anniversary book ‘Rise from Crises’, and a book ‘Tall Miracles’.
