Allan Lee is currently the Vice President and the Head of Family Governance Center of Legacy Academy.  He is a Master Family Legacy Planner who is responsible for family legacy consultancy and training services.  He specialises in family governance and research on success factors of Japanese enterprises with longevity. He aims at establishing family business governance system for family enterprises.  He is a legacy book writer and was the RTHK program host for the Program “Uprising Second Generations”.

Allan is the Research Associate at the Chinese Family Succession Research Center of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.  He is now the Part-time Teacher at the HKU SPACE, teaching Auditing and Assurance of the University of London Programme and the External Examiner for the Diploma of Vocational Education (Image Design) at the Vocational Training Council.  He was a guest speaker for the Family Business Innovation and Succession of the EMBA Master Class of the City University of Hong Kong in 2022.

Allan holds a Master of Arts in Japanese Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Master of Science Degree in Training and Performance Management from the University of Leicester, a Postgraduate Certification of Lifelong Education at the University of Nottingham, a Professional Diploma on Family Enterprise Succession Management at the Cambridge Management Academy and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Accountancy from the City University of Hong Kong.   He has also completed the International Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering at the International Compliance Association.

He is a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD), Fellow of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI), The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA), The Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Association of Hong Kong Accountants (AHKA).  He is also a member of Association of Women Accountants Hong Kong (AWAHK), CPA Australia, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).  He is the Certified Image Architect of the Association of Image Architects (AIAS), professional member of Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management (HKIHRM), and Hong Kong International Coaching Community (HKICC), and Registered Corporate Coach of the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC) and the Certified ESG Planner of the Institute Chamber of Sustainable Development (ICSD).

Facilitator: Dr Abril Choy

Dr. Choy has over 20 years’ of solid experiences in building project management, corporate development, financial services, corporate governance, and tertiary education sectors.
She is a specialist and professional adviser in legal regulation, strategic planning and finance.
Since returning from Australia till present, Dr. Choy has served various Hong Kong’s Government Board and Committees.
Among her appointed positions, she has reviewed, commented and adjudicated numerous cases from telecommunication licensing, compliant and codes of practice, medical regulation, appeal board, financial institutions resolution compensation, professional ethics of accountant, law enforcement, and social insurance to name a few.  Presently, Dr. Choy has been appointed as a Council Member, Human Reproductive Technology since then.
Dr. Choy received her academic education from Hong Kong, Australia, and China. She was awarded Doctor of Juridical Science (JSD) from the City University of Hong Kong with good honor.    Dr. Choy obtained her master degrees in the area of PRC Law from Renmin University of China, global business from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, international relations from Macquarie University, Australia and her bachelor degree of business administration from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Choy has served as a Lecturer of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Hong Kong as well.  She has been a Subject Matter Expert in legal and finance since then.  She published different books of finance and education.  She is the Members of Training Committee and Kindred Relations Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD) and has become a Facilitator since then.  She has conducted different types of directors’ training programs in area of the legal and regulatory framework, effective board, and market misconduct for public listed companies, private limited companies, HKSAR Government, University of Cambridge, and NGOs. Dr. Choy has been appointed as an Honorary Legal Adviser of the Hong Kong Logistics Association.  She is the member of different professional institutes including CIArb, FSBP, HKIoD, HKIRA, HKSI, HKIoB, and HKLA.

Training: New HKEX climate-related disclosures and the ISSB standards

The HKEX has issued a consultation paper to mandate climate-related disclosures and introduce new climate-related disclosure requirements which are based on International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Climate Standard. The HKEX new requirements will come into effect on 1 January 2024. This course will cover:

–       Key requirements of the new climate-related disclosures proposed by the HKEX
–       Comparison with the ISSB standards
–       Implications to directors, e.g. linking climate-related considerations with remuneration
–       How businesses can start

Facilitator: Ms Eddie Ng Partner, ESG Advisory, KPMG China

 

Ms Ng is the firm’s technical leader of reporting and assurance of non-financial information and has hands-on experience in supporting professionals and clients in interpreting and applying ESG reporting and assurance requirements.

Ms Ng possesses expertise and local implementation experience across a range of sustainability advisory services to support companies in preparing their ESG reports in compliance with the HKEX ESG Reporting Guide and TCFD recommendations. She has led and participated in various ESG advisory and assurance engagements, e.g. stakeholder engagement, material assessment, ESG strategy formulation and ESG rating enhancement. She is the principal author of the KPMG publication “Climate Change Reporting: Imminent, Challenging & Mandatory – The Opening Moves”, which discusses the key challenges that companies may face in adopting International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)’s proposed climate standard.

Ms Ng is a reviewer of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) ESG and Corporate Governance Awards since 2018. She was a member of the HKICPA ESG assurance task force and developed guidance on ESG report assurance for the audit profession.

Ms Ng has a master degree in environmental management. She studied climate-related financial disclosures in her dissertation and researched on the drivers and challenges in implementing the TCFD recommendations in Hong Kong.
