Chairman’s Message
I am honoured to extend a warm welcome to each of you as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors. Our Institute is fundamentally a members’ organisation, and I want to highlight that your voices and suggestions are invaluable to us. Your insights will guide our initiatives and help us better serve your needs, while fostering a culture of openness, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. On the other hand, the success of the Institute also relies on the dedication, devotion, and commitment of our members. By working together closely, we can make HKIoD a stronger voice in the community and build an organisation that we can all be proud of.
In our pursuit of excellence, we will actively collaborate with other organisations that share our values. By fostering these partnerships, we aim to enhance our collective impact and create a stronger network for our members, enabling broader influence and deeper engagement across sectors.
Looking ahead, we are committed to contributing to the success of our members, their companies, and the industries they serve. Together, we will work to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a global business hub, support the continued development of China, and engage meaningfully with the international community.

CEO’s Message
As the Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, I hold deep respect for the Institute’s long-standing commitment to advancing corporate governance and supporting the professional growth of directors in Hong Kong and beyond.
Throughout my career in financial services, I have had the opportunity to work with boards, senior executives, regulators and stakeholders across Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. My experience has reinforced the importance of integrity, open communication, constructive challenge and collaboration. I have also learned through my long-standing service in the non-profit sector that effective leadership must be grounded in purpose, accountability and a genuine commitment to the wider community.
We are committed to working closely with our members—listening to your insights, understanding your challenges, and partnering with you to strengthen the programmes and initiatives that matter most. Whether through professional development, advocacy, or community engagement, we hope HKIoD continues to serve as a trusted partner that adequately and consistently adds value for directors at every stage of their journey.
Together with the Council, staff, and our dedicated members, we look forward to fostering an open and inclusive environment where practical insights, meaningful connections, and mutual support can flourish. Our aim is to help the Institute uphold and elevate the high standards of governance that define us, guided by the collective wisdom of those we serve.
