Prof. Virginia HARPER HO
Professor of Law, The City University of Hong Kong School of Law
Virginia is a Professor of Law at the City University of Hong Kong School of Law, specializing in company law, M&A, and corporate finance. Her primary research interests encompass corporate law and governance, securities regulation, and sustainability from a comparative perspective. She has recently published work on corporate climate governance, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosure reform, and China’s green finance initiatives.
Professor Harper Ho has also contributed to ESG reform efforts for various regulators internationally, including the Singapore Stock Exchange and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Her experience includes serving as a Research Fellow at the International Institute of Green Finance in Beijing and as a visiting scholar at prominent universities in China and abroad.
Additionally, she is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Society of Comparative Law and a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute. With a J.D. from Harvard Law School and fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese, she brings extensive legal practice experience in advising multinational corporations on cross-border transactions, particularly in Asia.
